Heart 2 Heart comprised Eurovision’s ‘golden ratio’ of two guys and two girls: Grétar Örvarsson and Friðrik Karlsson playing the instruments behind vocalists Sigriður Beinteinsdóttir and Sigrún Ármannsdóttir in co-ordinating yellow and red outfits.
For Beinteinsdóttir – better known as just Sigga – it was a third consecutive appearance on the Eurovision stage. Together with her Heart 2 Heart buddy, Grétar Örvarsson, she had represented Iceland two years previously as Stjórnin. Their entry, Eitt Lagg Enn, was the fifth time Iceland had been present at the contest and its excellent fourth place finish in 1990 has been bettered only twice since. Then the following year she was a backing singer for Stéfan and Eyfi (who finished 15th), and in 1994 she extended her Eurovision pedigree even further with a solo effort, Nætur, which came in 12th.
